Part of a small team working on a web application used by churches to record membership, rota details and events. Added ability for churches to separate access to data for users depending on site allocation, plus addition of podcast feed and integration with BulkSMS so international churches can use a competitively priced product to send text messages.

Rare Creative are a marketing agency based in Sheffield, UK. Most are sites based on our own custom CMS, and I have created a couple of online “product selector” tools that show the available products for customers and enable them to print quotes, as well as internal desktop software to monitor them. This work enabled my employer to win the Digital Innovation Award at the Sheffield Business Awards in 2013.

Development of Crystal Reports and data access components for an eLearning project developed in ASP.NET (C#).
Scriptswitch as an online tool for doctors surgeries to recommend and compare pharmaceutical products for patients. I worked with the small team adding enhancements to the product security and reporting.
Development of software application to allow I.T. staff to monitor records on Informix, Opera and SQL Server 2000 database platforms, and perform simple queries.
Transfer of data between Informix and Opera to SQL Server 2000 platform using the Data Transformation Services, stored procedures, views and triggers from within SQL Server.
The company had a strict deadline for the transfer from their previous CRM to the new one which had to be completed over one weekend, which we met.
Reynolds Computing: March 2003 – October 2003
For Reynolds Computing I developed a web site using ASP (VB script) for online warehouse, and a help desk web site using ASP (VB script) for an insurance company.
A number of smaller desktop applications were also developed for independent small businesses in the West Midlands.
Nottinghamshire County Council: April 2002 – March 2003
Developed software to be distributed to Primary schools within the Nottinghamshire area, using Microsoft Access v2, Microsoft Visual Basic v6, and SQL Server v7.
Direct Valuations: 1998 – April 2002
At Direct Valuations I was part of a team that maintained in-house software using VB6, and SQL Server v7 (stored procedures, triggers and replication) to record mortgage valuations and correspondence between Direct Valuations and surveyors. I was also part of a front-line help desk providing support to Direct Valuations (100 users) and mortgageforce (5 office staff, 80 Franchisees) by telephone and e-mail.
